At Dateline TV, our journalism is guided by integrity, truth, and public responsibility.
As a digital news organization registered under CCS Network, empanelled with the Government of Punjab and Doordarshan (Government of India), we are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards of journalism.

This Code of Ethics defines our values and the principles that guide our editorial decisions, news reporting, and overall conduct as media professionals.

  • In case of an error, a correction or clarification is issued transparently as soon as the mistake is identified.
  • Anonymous sources are used only when necessary, and their identity is protected in the public interest.

  • We present news in a balanced and non-partisan manner.

  • Journalists and editors must avoid conflicts of interest and must not accept gifts, payments, or favors that could compromise integrity.
  • Sponsored or paid content is clearly labeled as “Sponsored” or “Advertisement.”

6. Respect for Privacy

  • We respect the privacy and dignity of individuals and avoid unnecessary intrusion.
  • Personal information or photographs are published only when it serves a clear public interest.
  • Special care is taken when reporting on children, victims of crime, and marginalized groups.

7. Responsible Use of Images and Videos

  • Photos and videos are used truthfully and not altered in a misleading way.
  • Graphic or disturbing content is avoided unless it holds strong public relevance — in such cases, viewer discretion is advised.

8. Hate Speech and Discrimination

  • Dateline TV strictly prohibits any content that promotes hate, violence, or discrimination based on religion, caste, gender, region, language, or community.
  • Our platform will never be used to spread misinformation, propaganda, or inflammatory content.

9. Transparency and Accountability

  • We disclose the source and nature of sponsored or partner content.
  • We promptly address reader feedback and complaints regarding published material.
  • Any grievance related to our content can be reported directly to our editorial office via email.

10. Corrections and Clarifications

  • In the event of a factual error, Dateline TV will issue a correction, update, or apology (if required) in a transparent and timely manner.

  • Journalists and team members representing Dateline TV must maintain professionalism on all social media platforms.
  • Personal opinions expressed online should not compromise the channel’s credibility or neutrality.
  • Misinformation or unverified news must never be shared from official or personal accounts under our banner.

12. Copyright and Content Ownership

  • Reproduction, modification, or reuse of content without permission is prohibited.
  • We respect intellectual property rights and ensure that third-party materials are used only with authorization or fair-use justification.

  • Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021
